Creativity

April 17th, 2008

I am very unhappy that I cannot remember how I ran into this. It’d be nice to give credit where it’s due, but oh well…

In any case, that’s quite possibly one of the most creative and best executed photoshoot ideas I’ve ever run into. Check out the rest of the gallery for some other nice shots, too.

It Begins Tonight*

First tonight you go to this, and then you come back for some of this:

…and then you keep coming to both regularly.

Got it? Good.

Frequent Flyer: First Class

March 21st, 2008

I used to do music recommendations on my previous blogs, and I figured this one should be no exception.

First up this time around is Frequent Flyer: First Class. It’s best described as the soundtrack for summer cruising in a city - at night, convertible top down.

Oh, and the beginning?

“Ladies and gentlemen, many songs have been written…and this is one of them.”

This is really some of the best music I’ve heard in a long while.

A Minor Revolution

March 21st, 2008

The Celemony folks came up with something pretty damn neat. While it may feel like cheating for recordings, I think it will prove itself extremely handy.

It’s amusing how it is possible namely due to the faultiness of human hearing.

A Farewell to Remember

I’d make a sarcastic comment, but the beeped-out part of the video is good enough.

The Next Episode

February 3rd, 2008

This year’s US presidential election is already quite interesting. On one side of the isle we have two minorities from which to choose a nominee, and on the other sit four conservatives who keep calling each other liberal. What a world.

They say every election is between a turd sandwich and a giant douche. I don’t know whether that’s quite true, but recently there does seem to have been a pattern of having to pick the lesser of two evils when it comes to presidential elections. Call me naive, but it seems to me that this year we’re in much better shape. In fact, I’m feeling so optimistic that I’m going to predict what happens between now and November 4th, 2008.

First off, Barack Obama will win the Democratic ticket, after a fairly tight race with Hillary Clinton. After a largely “friendly” campaign he will choose either her or John Edwards as his running mate, the latter being more likely as Obama keeps referring to their similarities during the debates. Clinton will be a reasonable choice since she seems well liked by enough people and won’t have an overly negative image to deal with due to the previously mentioned friendly tone of this year’s campaign.

On the Republican side we will have John McCain, with the second-place candidate as his running mate, which at this time (2/3) seems to be Mitt Romney. The race won’t be quite as tight as the Democratic, but the results won’t be completely obvious until near the very end.

The grand prize will go to Obama in a race almost as tight as the past two, and hopefully without any scandals this time around.

Now, what do I want to happen? I’d like to see Obama win with Hillary, as I think they would make a good team and actually get things done. I wouldn’t mind him going against McCain, since I find him to be the least insane of the Republican candidates (save perhaps for Ron Paul, who is fantastic at pointing out what’s wrong with America today but fails miserably at coming up with viable solutions), which would make losing less painful, but part of me wants an outrageous Republican pair to assist the Democrats in winning. I am very distrustful of the Republican party.

All that said, I think each of the currently active six candidates from the two major parties will do an immensely better job than George Bush. In fact, I think only Rudy Giuliani and Fred Thompson could possibly be worse, and they’ve both left the race.

It will be a good year, I think.
